born theodora jane wilson, to janessa and wayne wilson on may 17th, 199X making her a taurus — taurus' are known for being  ambitious, patient, and stubborn yet dependable.  she was born and raised in oshkosh, wisconsin. the wilson family weren't exactly affluent, but they were upper middle class and faced little to no adversity.teddy had a pretty average childhood. she was a smart kid, being at the top of her classes throughout her elementary and middle school years. she was the one who people cheated off of instead of being the cheater, and she capitalized off of this during middle school, but she was forced to stop after being caught suspended for two weeks for it.she was also quite liked, having many friends that she'd eventually burn bridges with during her more rebellious high school years.

she really started struggling socially and academically once she entered high school. she was in the weird part of puberty where she was stuck trying to find her sense of self and identity. this led to teddy rebelling and having a bit of a punk phase instead of the buttoned up rule follower she'd been prior. she started staying out past curfew, and going through a bit of a hoe phase, ah, yes, compulsive heterosexuality. truthfully, deep down she knew it was more self harm then attraction to these boys. she had no interest at her core and it wasn't like they had anything of real value to offer.around this time she went to her first house party, had her first joint and beer. and it was safe to say she couldn't get enough of it. which she learned quickly that she just had a genetic predisposition to substance abuse and addiction.have you ever heard the one about the gifted kid crashing and burning out?   well, that was teddy.she also joined jazz band, learning how to play guitar and the keyboard and got really interested in music. at this time teddy really got into playing and even writing her own music. luckily, she'd met  gary milton  in said jazz band. the two of them had amazing bed chem and became friends with benefits. this lasted for a month, and then they became a couple for almost a year and then beards for another year   —   he was her first, and only serious boyfriend. he was her only real boyfriend. the boyfriends she'd had prior lasted a month or so and then the interest from teddy's side would fizzle out.teddy had realized she was a lesbian about eight months into their relationship. she sat on this information for another two, only to come out about a week after their ten month anniversary   —   only for gary to also come out as gay.at her core, teddy had leveled out a bit in her rebellion during her senior year. she was still punk and a bit rebellious but was less fuck all authority, about it all.she ended up graduating from her high school with honors, despite her grades having a bit of a slip during the tail end of her sophomore year.

teddy attended the  university of wisconsin  for a year and a couple of months. she was going to college to get her bachelors in education with a minor in english.she lived on campus, she was free to explore herself more   —   exploring herself mostly meaning her queer identity. this was something she couldn't do safely and freely at home given her parents conservative views on queer people. her roommate was  fern hamilton,  her future public relations person, social media manager and co-lyricist when she goes solo.while exploring herself and her identity through dating and hookup apps alike she met  karley jensen.  the two started seeing each other and inevitably defined their relationship after a month and a half of talking. about half of a year into their relationship during teddy's sophomore year in college   —   the fact that teddy wasn't fully out started to put a serious strain on their relationship.this led to teddy bringing karley home to meet her parents, and well come out to them in one fell swoop. this of course was a shock to them. they asked karley to wait in the other room while they screamed and yelled at teddy and told her that she had 72 hours to get all her shit out of their house, she was cut off and on her own. it was safe to say that they weren't supportive in her identity.she reaches out to her maternal grandmother,  meredith allen,  and explains everything. she's very accepting and is appalled that her parents acted in the way that they had. but she was more than welcome to move in with her in lakewood, ohio with her and teddy's younger cousin,  violet allen. violet also lives with their grandmother and has since her parents were both killed by a drunk driver. her older brother,  justin allen,  used to live with them as well, but he's now off living on the outskirts of ohio with his wife and their toddler on a ranch.teddy moves in with her grandmother and cousin in ohio, and is forced to drop from college and take an extended gap year.karley, the girl who she's literally uprooted her life for, decides that she can't do the whole distance thing and breaks up with teddy. it's later revealed by a mutual friend that the real reason why she broke up with teddy was because she was actually cheating and was about to be exposed for it, so she just pulled the plug while she was "ahead".

at this point, teddy wilson just becomes another household name. her name rising on the charts quicker than other newcomers might when they first get their start. after her first studio album under the name eviction notice drops, it's met with commercial success. it all happens overnight it seems.she gets post after post commending her for her album from her friends, fans, celebrities. it was hard for teddy to not feel like she was on top of the world.meanwhile, still battling her inner demons.she's usually seen in the studio, at events or at parties during this part of her career as she makes a name for herself. mostly in between touring.she loses the first couple of awards she gets nominated for justly (she thinks anyways) for more popular and talented artists. at least she has a positive outlook on it all.that's until she wins album of the year for eviction notice at the grammy's.that's when she knows she had truly made it.

teddy was special, or at least that’s what her manager, Mickey, had told her from time to time to get her to even listen to him at this point. All Teddy could focus on or think about was parties, the next one she’d go to, the last one she went to and so on. And if it wasn’t parties she’d be found at it was her at home enjoying a glass or two or even three of wine at home. It was either that or a mixed drink she had crafted for herself.She was a   functioning alcoholic   and everyone around her knew. She also knew deep, deep, deep, deep down that she also had a problem, but she didn’t want to fix it. She’d show up to performances tipsy to even blacked out and still give a genuinely good show. Fans seemed to enjoy it.These problems only became real problems when she meets   GUNNER BAUR.   they were a drummer in a band with damn good biceps and a very easy sex drive. What was there not to love about them? they also made her feel good about herself, so it was easy. Life was easy. Or so it seemed.Gunner had a very sharp wit and a quick tongue and it was easy to do whatever they had asked of her, and being a people pleaser, it was still so hard for teddy to say no to them as well. this leads to them being a bad influence on teddy– even if it wasn’t intended or the goal. This is how teddy ends up getting addicted to things harder than just alcohol and marijuana, namely cocaine. Gunner tried to stop it in their defense, but another thing about teddy is that she’s also stubborn as hell.It was after her second studio album tantrums came out and she was on tour for it when the hate started to pool in. #teddyisoverparty campaign was running rampant on social media. Along with her now more than ever under the influence of whatever she was into at the time performance clips spreading on the internet like wildfire. In these videos she’d be slurring her words, saying whatever was on her mind, and her asking questionable questions to the audience to name a few.What once used to be a quiet few people who disliked her became louder, and multiplied. She knew that being famous would come with fans, but it would also come with people who didn’t like her, or agree with her. But she never expected those who used to adore her to turn on her because she was too messy for their liking.This hate really started to take a toll on teddy’s mental health, especially when the media started giving their own two cents on the whole situation. All it took was for teddy to take a drunken tumble and for some paparazzi to get a picture of it for her to crumble. She canceled what was left of her tour, and didn’t explain why– and isolated for weeks on end, only coming out to chase after what had faded. She disconnected from friends and loved ones. She’d even broken up with Gunner because they deserved better.This was the first time that the whole band was in the room together since breaking up all those years ago. They still hung out together after, but it was always missing a member, either Cali or Kirby. But they were all here. So was fern, mickey and her brother. Most surprisingly, so was gunner. They knew that she had needed help despite them having broken up.So, after much crying, screaming and pleading from all parties (teddy included), she finally obliged. Acknowledging that she did have a problem but she didn’t know how to ask for help. She agreed to go to rehab and fix herself and to get the help that she needs. Even as hard as it may be to admit.

After rehab, Teddy was left with the shambles of what once was her career. Being left there nearly alone to pick up the shattered remains of the past. Yes, she still had some friends like Fern and her manager, Mickey– but it wasn’t the same.She now had obligations, life things to deal with like meetings– sponsors– therapy. things she would have never imagined herself doing throughout her years of fame. She knew she’d had a problem but she was in too deep to stop now it seemed. It wasn’t until she had seen how her actions had affected those around her to truly admit that, yeah she had a problem.step one of her own recovery for her was to learn how to take accountability for her actions and say she was sorry. Even if at the time she hadn’t exactly meant it, but she definitely does now. the last thing she had expected however was for gunner to turn their back after everything. She’d come back from rehab expecting open arms and open ears from her ex– the whole i take you back, and i’m sorry from the rehab of it all. But what she got was a box of her stuff sitting outside of the door of the apartment that used to be theirs. Technically it was always more gunner’s than anything, but she lived there too. the box had teddy’s shit scrawled out in sharpie in the hand writing that could only be that of her ex.This led to teddy couch surfing for a couple of months until she got back on her feet again. She wasn’t going to reach out to her parents about staying with them after everything that they had said and done to her in the last few months of them acknowledging her existence. Yes, she’d finally made them proud when she hit it big and they tried to reach out again. She was sure it was due to the fame she had acquired. But she could never just forgive and forget that easily. Plus, how do they even think about her now given the rehab of it all? First she was staying with fern, then mickey and then gary and finally her grandmother's house.It felt so weird for her to be back there after everything. To find the comfort in her old room, the room that her grandma had left untouched after all these years. The bed was still made in the same sheets that it was the day she’d packed most of her things up to move in with fern.That was until she had found a place of her own, a two bedroom apartment that was a sweet bachelor pad for a while and something she could afford. It wasn’t like she couldn’t afford the nicest apartment in this side of town, but it was that money wasn’t coming in like it used to. Her songs just weren’t getting played as often as they once were. This was because she had, as the media had put it, fallen off.She still has her vices, a cigarette after a long night, and her strawberry fields vape for during the day. That doesn't mean she doesn’t miss what she used to have and take to help her “function.” The issue was that she had become so comfortably numb that experiencing any emotion sober was seemingly new to her. Any minor inconvenience leading her to a breakdown, crying on the kitchen floor of all places.Now she just tries to take everything one day at a time as she tries to stay clean for long enough for mickey to allow her to step back into the public spotlight once again. Which is proving to be easy enough with the support of her friends and her sponsor.
